Dosage forms: suppositories 20 mg, suppositories 50 mg

Composition: 100 g of emulsion-based ointment contains 0.05 g or 0.1 g of 13-cis-retinoic acid, respectively.

Indications for use:

  1. Papulopustular acne;
  2. Seborrhea;
  3. Rosacea;
  4. Perioral dermatitis.

Contraindications: Pregnancy and breastfeeding. The ointment should not be prescribed to women planning pregnancy.

Side effect: In the second week of treatment, an exacerbation reaction may occur - the appearance of new rashes, itching, swelling and redness of the skin. In case of a pronounced reaction, it is recommended to stop treatment for 2-4 days until it subsides. In some cases, intolerance to the drug is observed - on the first or second day of use, itching and swelling, macular rashes appear. In such cases, the drug should be discontinued and anti-inflammatory treatment should be prescribed. With prolonged use, symptoms of chronic hypervitaminosis A may develop (cheilitis, conjunctivitis, dry skin of the face and mucous membranes, etc.).

Interaction: Drug interactions with Retinoic ointment have not been described.

Overdose: In case of overdose, the symptoms of hypervitaminosis A may increase. Treatment: drug withdrawal and symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions: The drug should be used with caution in chronic diseases of the liver, kidneys, chronic pancreatitis, cardiac decompensation. The ointment should not be prescribed to patients receiving other drugs from the retinoid group. It is not recommended to wear contact lenses during treatment.
