Hymen latticework
The hymen is a solid, solid barrier between a woman's external genitalia and the external environment. It protects intimate organs from bacteria and infections.
Ethmoidal hymen (H. CRIBRIFORMIS) is one of the variants of the structure of the hymen, which makes it possible, when it ruptures, to partially or completely preserve the integrity of the hymen. It is observed in 2.7% of girls. This is a congenital feature, but there are authors who write: “It is possible that such a hymen is an atraumatic way of rupturing the hymen and represents a variant of the norm.” It can occur in girls aged 3 to 15 years. However, ruptures of this hymen are accompanied by longer bleeding and pain.
