Dilasid: description of the drug, indications for use and features of use

Dilasidom (molsidomine) is a peripheral vasodilator produced by the Polish pharmaceutical company Warsaw Pharmaceutical Plant Polfa. The drug is available in various dosage forms, including 2 mg tablets, 4 mg tablets and 8 mg retard tablets.

Dilasidom is used for the treatment of coronary heart disease, prevention and relief of angina attacks (in case of intolerance or insufficient effectiveness of nitrates), acute myocardial infarction (after stabilization of hemodynamic parameters), pulmonary hypertension, chronic pulmonary heart disease and chronic congestive heart failure (in combination with other drugs ).

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to molsidomine, severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, decreased central venous pressure, pregnancy (first trimester). While taking Dilasidom, you must stop breastfeeding.

Side effects associated with the use of Dilasidom may include headache, dizziness, low blood pressure, collapse, glaucoma, facial flushing, skin and bronchospastic allergic reactions.

With simultaneous use of Dilasidom with other vasodilators, the hypotensive effect may be enhanced, and with simultaneous consumption of alcohol, the effect of vasodilators may be increased.

Before starting treatment with Dilasidom, it is necessary to assess the patient's condition and begin treatment with low doses, especially in patients with liver failure, severe renal failure and in old age. At the beginning of treatment, it is prohibited to engage in driving and other potentially dangerous activities that require increased attention and speed of reaction.

Thus, Dilasidom is an effective peripheral vasodilator that can be used to treat various cardiovascular diseases. However, like any other drug, it must be used with caution and under the supervision of a physician.
