Dosage forms: tablets 0.25 mg
Composition: Active substance - digoxin.
Indications for use: Congestive circulatory failure (without hemodynamically significant obstruction of the outflow tract of the heart), atrial fibrillation, supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardia, atrial flutter.
Contraindications: Glycoside intoxication.
Side effects: Nausea, vomiting, anorexia, bradycardia, ventricular extrasystole, AV block, headache, dizziness. Possible disturbance of color vision, decreased visual acuity, scotomas, macro- and microopsia, and with prolonged use - gynecomastia.
Interaction: Adrenomimetics increase the likelihood of developing arrhythmia, antiarrhythmic and anticholinesterase drugs - bradycardia, glucocorticoids, saluretics and other drugs that promote potassium loss, calcium drugs - glycoside intoxication. Aminazine reduces the cardiotonic effect, laxatives, antacids, products containing aluminum, bismuth, magnesium - absorption. Rifampicin and sulfasalazine speed up metabolism.
Overdose: Symptoms: Arrhythmia, AV block, vomiting, nausea. Treatment: potassium preparations, unithiol, ethylenediaminetetraacetate.
Special instructions: Combine with diuretics and sympathomimetics with caution. Co-administration with amphotericin B and calcium supplements should be avoided.
