Dipetalone maperstans is a protozoan parasite that belongs to the phylum of roundworms. It causes a disease known as diostomatosis, which is a common disease affecting domestic animals, especially sheep and cattle in South Asia. Diostomatosis currently affects animals in various countries, including India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia and India.
Diostomatosis is a disease caused by the nematode Dipetalonemeaperstans. The causative agent of the disease is widespread in South-West Asia, and the disease in animals is also widespread. The enzootic situation in different regions of Asia is different and very complex; some experts suggest the presence of an epizootic disease in the pastures of Southwestern Asia; in other regions the epizootic is less active or absent altogether.
The pathogen occupies an intermediate position in its morphological and biological properties between the known nematodes of the genus Acanthocheilonemarusselli and D. contortum. Among the indicated analogues of the nematode currently isolated, an intermediate, almost neutral position between them is also noted. Dipetalonematicomplesens: “non-classical” non-contorted pseudobombaxenaicum. May cause acute gastrointestinal pain syndrome in humans. Manifestations of the disease vary from episodic attacks of the disease in animals to a real infection with an epidemiological nature. The diagnosis of a subclinical course of the disease must be made
