**Amyotactic dysphagia**
Amyotactic dysphagia is the occurrence of difficulty swallowing due to damage to the VII pair of cranial nerves. Facial expressions and voice are preserved. Paralysis of the platysma or omentum is observed in combination with symptoms of impaired contractile function of the pharyngeal muscles. This type of dysphagia occurs often in patients who have a history of cervical spine trauma or exposure to radiation therapy.
