Dispensary (French dispensaire, from Latin dispense - to distribute) is a medical and preventive institution that carries out clinical examination and provides outpatient care to the population.

Dispensaries are created according to the profile of the disease and serve certain groups of the population. For example, children's, oncology, dermatovenerological, psychoneurological, anti-tuberculosis, drug treatment clinics, etc.

The main tasks of dispensaries are: clinical observation of persons with chronic diseases, prevention of exacerbations and complications of diseases; conducting preventive examinations of the population for the purpose of early detection of diseases; health and rehabilitation activities.
