Dobutamine Hexal is a medication used to treat acute heart failure, including acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, exacerbation of chronic heart failure, and temporary relief of chronic heart failure.

Dobutamine Hexal is produced by Hexal AG and Hexal Pharma GmbH in Germany. The active substance is dobutamine, which stimulates beta-adrenergic receptors, which leads to improved cardiac function and increased cardiac output.

The dosage form of Dobutamine Hexal is lyophilized powder for the preparation of an injection solution in a dosage of 250 mg. The drug has several synonyms, including Dobuzhekt, Dobutamine Giulini, Dobutamine Lachema, Dobutamine Nycomed, Dobutamine Solvay and Dobutrex.

Like any other drug, Dobutamine Hexal has a number of contraindications and side effects. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to dobutamine, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, pregnancy (restrictions on use) and lactation. Side effects may include headache, tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, cardiac and chest pain, shortness of breath, increased blood pressure, hypotension, hypokalemia, nausea, allergic reactions and skin necrosis at the injection site.

Dobutamine Hexal may also interact with other drugs, including sodium nitroprusside, beta blockers, and solutions containing sodium bisulfite, ethanol, sodium bicarbonate, and other alkaline solutions.

An overdose of Dobutamine Hexal may cause serious symptoms such as headache, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, tremor, anxiety, palpitations, angina pectoris, cardialgia, tachyarrhythmia, severe hypertension and myocardial ischemia. In case of overdose, it is necessary to stop administering the drug and ensure ventilation of the lungs and oxygenation of the blood.

During treatment with Dobutamine Hexal, it is necessary to constantly monitor blood pressure, ventricular filling pressure, central venous pressure, pulmonary artery pressure, heart rate, ECG, stroke volume, body temperature and diuresis. Before starting treatment, it is necessary to carefully assess the patient’s condition and determine the individual dose of the drug, taking into account age, weight, cardiovascular condition and other factors.

Dobutamine Hexal is a prescription drug and should only be used under the supervision of a physician in a medical facility. Self-medication or changing the dosage without consulting a doctor is not recommended. If you have any problems with Dobutamine Hexal, ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.
