Lordotic dysbasia is a gait disorder characterized by disturbances in the rhythm and coordination of steps. The cause of this disease is pathological lordosis of the lumbar spine.
Excessive lordosis leads to a shift in the center of gravity of the body, which disrupts the biomechanics of walking. Patients complain of instability when walking, a feeling of “sinking” into the knee joints, and rapid fatigue of the legs. The gait becomes “swaying”, steps are asymmetrical, and step length is reduced.
Treatment of lordotic dysbasia is aimed at eliminating lordosis with the help of physical therapy, massage, and manual therapy. The spine is corrected using corsets or surgery. It is important to strengthen the back and abdominal muscles and teach proper walking biomechanics. The prognosis with adequate treatment is favorable.
