Dufalac

Duphalac is a synthetic laxative used to treat constipation and intestinal motility disorders.

Country of origin: Netherlands (Solvay Pharma, Solvay Pharmaceuticals companies).

International name: Lactulose.

Synonyms: Lactulose, Lactulose Poly, Lactulose syrup, Livo-lacquer, Normaze, Portalac.

Dosage forms: syrup, powder for oral administration, syrup 667.5 mg/ml.

Ingredients: active substance - lactulose.

Indications for use: chronic and acute constipation, hepatic encephalopathy, intestinal microflora disorders, pain after hemorrhoidectomy.

Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, galactosemia, intestinal obstruction.

Side effects: flatulence, diarrhea, cramps, nausea, vomiting, loss of electrolytes.

Interaction: reduces the effectiveness of neomycin and antacids.

Overdose: diarrhea, abdominal pain. Treatment: drug withdrawal.

Special instructions: use with caution in case of diabetes mellitus and lactose intolerance. Monitor electrolytes during long-term use. Do not prescribe against the background of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
