World famous bodybuilder Eddie Robinson was born on September 22, 1964 in the United States of America. Even at a young age, Eddie became seriously interested in playing rugby and at the same time tried himself in boxing. The boy dreamed of becoming a real professional football player (meaning American football - an analogue of rugby), since Eddie was madly in love with this sport from the age of ten.
It so happened that in 1982, the Robinson family, due to certain financial circumstances, on the initiative of their father, made a decision move to Florida. It was there that the future Champion, no longer able to devote time to football, began training in the gym. After a short time, having felt a real tangible effect, Eddie Robinson begins to gradually take part in various competitions and tournaments. At the very beginning of his sports career, he was actively involved in powerlifting. It is on this sports discipline of “iron sports” that the young American places his main emphasis, however, combining basic powerlifting classes with periodic performances at tournaments. bodybuilding. For example, in 1984, he almost effortlessly won the district championship of his state "Mr. Florida"

Then, in just a few years, the ambitious athlete establishes a whole a number of records in the bench press exercise, and in 1986 - officially registered world record in this sporting discipline. To him manages to squeeze 276 kg (or 610 pounds). Subsequently, he even improves it (though unofficially) with a new personal record of 645 pounds. And this is all at age: 22, with a competitive weight of 100 kg and a height of 173 cm. From the words of the Champion himself, he had exceptional, phenomenally strong muscles of the shoulder girdle and, first of all, triceps, which gave him the opportunity to aim for the highest step of the podium in the bench press. Having gained worldwide fame and celebrity, and having closely communicated with Joe Weider, who delicately hinted to him that he still couldn’t make a lot of money in powerlifting, Eddie directed all his strength and zeal directly into body-building.
After another success at professional tournaments (“Niagara Falls Pro - 1990” - first place), the outstanding athlete gets the opportunity to take part in the most ambitious competition: "Mr. Olympia - 1990". At this championship he takes tenth place, which is quite a significant achievement for a novice professional. However, Robinson tries to challenge the results of the performance, and, in the end, having quarreled with everyone, but still not agreeing with the foundations and policies of the IFBB, on the advice of Tom Platz, he leaves for an alternative bodybuilding federation: the WBA, which resolutely adheres to a strict anti-doping policy. Official documentary sources record the fact that the athlete disagreed with the vague anti-doping position of the IFBB at the 1990 Olympia. It was when, for the first time, doping tests for all its participants were sanctioned for the first time. But within the framework of the alternative federation, Eddie competed for only four years, after which the federation itself ceased to exist.
Later, with the light hand of the king of bodybuilding himself, Joe Weider, the American athlete was able to return to the IFBB, motivating the entire sports community with his “bad” act as a desire to make his contribution to the development of the IFBB anti-doping campaign, and, well, to have the opportunity to continue to compete as an athlete -professional. Moreover, lately Eddie has regularly, publicly and loudly condemned the use of “banned chemicals” in bodybuilding, which is how he earned himself the name and fame of an irreconcilable fighter against doping and anabolic steroids. True, by the end of his stellar career, attacks of this kind began to “fade to nothing” and were rare and no longer “not accurate,” at least in the sports media.
