Edema Refractory

Introduction: Refractory - incurable or resistant to treatment (translated from Latin re-fracta - “reject, contradict”). Refractory or latent edema is a disease characterized by a reduced response of the immune system. Most often it manifests itself in the form of allergic reactions, although other body activities can also lead to them. The sufferer often does not suspect that he has swelling, until one day the fluid itself, which has lingered in the tissues, begins to protrude through the integument.

Causes of refractory edema The pathological process is accompanied by the following symptoms: pain; burning; foreign body sensation; itching; redness and swelling of the skin; disruption of internal organs. In many cases, the diagnosis of refractory edema is not made within 24 to 48 hours. Only after this does peeling of the epidermis begin to appear - one of the indirect signs. Maintaining cleanliness of the skin is the main recommendation for combating the disease. When treating swelling, the doctor may prescribe drugs whose action is aimed at immunomodulation, but do not forget about a healthy lifestyle.
