Exudate Serous

Serous exudate (E. serosum) is a clear or slightly turbid liquid with a specific odor, which is discarded when the skin and mucous membranes are wounded. E. serosum is formed from interstitial serous transudate, inflammatory effusion, and sometimes due to the breakdown of blood clots, cysts and other phenomena. It usually occurs at the site of injury as peripheral venous bleeding. A characteristic sign of peripheral vascular compression syndrome is an abundance of blood after removal of a tourniquet or pressure bandage. The release of E. serosum under pressure is called “hematoma”. Fresh color
