Enap-5

Enap-5: an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor for the treatment of hypertension and other diseases

Enap-5 is a drug that belongs to the group of antihypertensive drugs that are angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors). It is produced by Krka from Slovenia and is used to treat hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.

The main active ingredient of the drug is enalapril, which blocks the angiotensin-converting enzyme, which leads to dilation of blood vessels and a decrease in blood pressure. Enap-5 is presented in the form of tablets containing 5 mg of enalapril.

The drug has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, reducing the load on the heart and reducing the likelihood of heart failure. In addition, it can be used to treat other diseases, such as diabetic nephropathy, Raynaud's disease, scleroderma, angina pectoris, as well as in the complex therapy of myocardial infarction.

Despite the effectiveness of the drug, its use may be accompanied by some side effects, such as depression of the central nervous system, blurred vision, smell and taste, hypotension, arrhythmias and others. However, the use of the drug is contraindicated during pregnancy, breastfeeding and childhood.

It is also important to know that the drug may interact with other drugs, for example, it may enhance the effect of diuretics and antihypertensive drugs, and also increase the risk of developing hyperkalemia while taking potassium-sparing diuretics and potassium-containing drugs.

Before starting to use Enap-5, you must consult your doctor and strictly follow the recommendations for dosage and use of the drug. It is also important to regularly monitor blood pressure and kidney function during treatment.
