Erysipelas of the larynx

I wish you good health! Erysipelas of the larynx (e. laryngitis) is an infectious and inflammatory disease of the laryngopharynx. Its cause is the presence of an inflammatory process with the formation of adhesions at the site of fusion of the mucous membrane of the walls of the larynx. Most often, the disease is secondary and occurs against the background of existing inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, less often as a result of a disease or disorder of the development of the oral cavity.

Symptoms characteristic of the disease are:

pain in the neck and throat; acute pain when swallowing; enlarged lymph nodes; feeling of a “lump” in the throat; dry cough.
