Evacuation point

Evacuation centers are an institution of primary life support for the population, the main task of which is to provide assistance to victims of emergency situations by organizing meals, temporary housing, heating, supplying basic necessities, etc.

Evacuation of the population is one of the main methods of carrying out protective measures in case of emergencies in peacetime and war. It is carried out through mass or partial evacuation from zones of catastrophic flooding, radioactive contamination, the spread of mass infectious diseases, major industrial accidents, in the event of the threat of epidemics, epizootics, etc.

The presence of evacuation points allows for systematic planned work to prepare for the protection of the population from the moment the threat of a peacetime emergency arises until the complete completion of the organized withdrawal (removal) and placement in safe areas.

Evacuation points are organized by forces and means of civil defense units of the region, city and district units of the RSChS in cooperation with local government authorities and administration. Hospitals in evacuation points are being repurposed as specialized healthcare institutions from among those employed in evacuation.
