Finalgon: an irritant for pain relief and recovery

Finalgon is an irritant produced by several pharmaceutical companies, including Boehringer Ingelheim in Germany, Boehringer Ingelheim in Austria, Boehringer Ingelheim/Haupt Pharma in Germany, and Zdravle in Yugoslavia. It belongs to a group of pharmacological drugs known as irritants of synthetic origin.

Finalgon is available in ointment and cream form. Its main components are nonivamide and nicoboxyl. Nonivamide and nicoboxil have analgesic properties and help relieve symptoms of arthritis, arthralgia, myalgia, sports injuries, bruises, sprains, neuritis, lumbago, sciatica, bursitis, tenosynovitis and peripheral circulatory disorders.

Some precautions must be taken when using Finalgon. The drug should not be applied to areas with open wounds, damaged or irritated skin, or to areas affected by skin diseases. Patients with sensitive skin are advised not to take hot showers or baths before or after applying Finalgon.

If the drug gets into the eyes, mucous membranes of the nose or mouth, an unpleasant burning sensation may occur, but this condition is harmless. After using Finalgon, it is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly with soap.

Finalgon is usually well tolerated by patients, but in rare cases allergic reactions may occur. Therefore, if you experience signs of an allergy, you should immediately stop using the drug and consult your doctor.

Finalgon has no known interactions with other drugs and there is no evidence of overdose. However, for safe use it is recommended to start with a minimal amount of the drug.

Finalgon has contraindications. It is not recommended for use in patients with hypersensitivity to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as well as during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in children under 14 years of age.

Finalgon is an effective irritant that helps relieve pain and promote recovery in various conditions associated with musculoskeletal problems. However, before using it, it is recommended that you consult with your doctor or pharmacist to ensure that it is suitable for your specific case and will not cause unwanted side effects.
