Submandibular ganglion (Langley ganglion) is a collection of nerve cells (neurons) located under the lower jaw. It is part of the trigeminal nerve. Responsible for the innervation of the masticatory muscles, salivary glands and skin of the chin. Plays an important role in conducting sensory impulses from these areas to the brain. Named after the English anatomist John Langley.
