Genkina Operation

Genkin's operation is a surgical operation to restore the patency of the auditory tube, developed by the Soviet otorhinolaryngologist Yakov Semenovich Genkin.

The operation is used for chronic tubotemporal diseases of the middle ear, accompanied by impaired barofunction of the auditory tube. The purpose of the operation is to restore normal gas exchange and barofunction of the middle ear by creating a permanent anastomosis between the auditory tube and the nasopharynx.

During the operation, the membranous-cartilaginous part of the auditory tube and the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx are dissected. The mucous membrane is then sutured to the cartilage of the auditory tube. This leads to the formation of a permanent hole between the middle ear cavity and the nasopharynx.

Thus, Genkin surgery allows you to restore normal ventilation and drainage of the middle ear, improving auditory function. The operation is widely used in otorhinolaryngological practice.

*Genkin Operation* is a unique and effective method of treating various forms of inflammation of the middle ear and nasopharynx. Developed by Professor Yakov Solomonovich Genkin in 1947, this operation became a real breakthrough in the treatment of ear and throat diseases.
