Geophagy

Geophagia, geophagia, pica is a type of picasophilia associated with the eating of soil, earth, sand or other fine granular materials, which are sometimes ingested and swallowed by the patient to achieve calmness, develop appetite, normalize digestion, or as food substitutes. The name comes from the Greek words “γῆ” (“gê”) - earth and “φαγεῖν” (pha-geîn) - eat, absorb.

What if people eat some of the earth, our fellow countryman, fontanel. The soil is soft, saturated with mineral salts, enzymes, and bacteria. All this will definitely end up in the human gastrointestinal tract when eating soil.
