Mechanical hydronephrosis
Description of the disease Atypical forms of urolithiasis are often found in children - residual stones in the ureter and renal pelvis. The cause of this phenomenon may be hydronephrotic obstruction of the urinary tract, as well as the presence of other structural changes on the walls of the pelvis or ureter that impede the outflow of urine. Due to this, the kidneys cannot function normally and remove some of the fluid from the blood, which turns into urine. This disease is called hydronephrosis.
Among the causes of this disease, 2 types can be distinguished: * - mechanical; * - destructive-dystrophic.
The former cause obstruction of the urinary tract. They occur very rarely - no more than 5% of patients. Most often in practice we deal with destructive dystrophic forms of hydronephrosis, affecting internal organs in approximately 70–80% of cases. Diagnosis of such a disease includes the following procedures:
1. Study of the initial functional state of the kidneys. This will make it possible to predict the upcoming treatment. 2. X-ray contrast methods. This method allows you to accurately determine the defect in the kidney and impaired functions of the urinary organs. 3. Computer and magnetic
Title: Mechanical hydronephrosis: description and possible consequences
Hydronephrosis is a kidney disease that occurs due to a narrowing of the ureter (the passage that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder). It can be mechanical or functional and has many causes. One of these
