Indications for use:

  1. Diabetes mellitus type 2 in the absence of the effect of a low-calorie diet, adequate physical activity, etc.
  2. Diabetic microangiopathy

Contraindications:

  1. Hypersensitivity
  2. Diabetic ketoacidosis
  3. Diabetic coma
  4. Juvenile diabetes mellitus type 1
  5. Fever

Side effect:
For slow-acting glipizide:

  1. From the nervous system and sensory organs: dizziness, headache, insomnia, drowsiness, anxiety, depression, confusion, gait disturbance, paresthesia, hyperesthesia, blurred vision, eye pain, conjunctivitis, retinal hemorrhage.
  2. From the cardiovascular system and blood: syncope, arrhythmia, arterial hypertension, feeling of hot flashes.
  3. Metabolism: hypoglycemia.
  4. From the gastrointestinal tract: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, feeling of heaviness in the epigastric region, dyspepsia, constipation, blood in the stool.
  5. From the skin: rash, urticaria, itching.
  6. From the respiratory system: rhinitis, pharyngitis, dyspnea.
  7. From the genitourinary system: dysuria, decreased libido.
  8. Other: thirst, trembling, peripheral edema, non-localized pain throughout the body, arthralgia
