R.

The novel “R” by Roman Shmarakov is a continuation of a series of novels about the wanderings of heroes in a pandemic present, begun by the author ten years ago with the publication of “Dayan’s Song.” Dayan, who survived in an abandoned village in the Ussuri taiga and set out on a mission to create a life-saving medicine vaccine, was unable to complete his plan without going through the ordeal of wandering and terrible personal losses. He became an accidental victim of strong and purposeful jocks, knowledgeable leaders and skilled suppliers in the field of organizing social pyramids and pyramids of power. Dayan, because of his naivety, simple-mindedness and weakness of will, instead of constantly observing the growing chaos and unknown prospects of the unknown future of humanity on the threshold of the inevitable end, lost his personality. Taking a rigid position of waiting and observing what was happening, Dayan disappeared as a rational being, giving the surrounding world the opportunity to liken itself to the rest of matter, deprived of its concerns, its spiritual message and purpose. The passive attitude of the hero “going crazy” in history seeps deep into the plot of the novel on the pages where the turn of things that happened in the world is described. The novel convinces us that the parasites of the Universe are even more hostile to us
