Exacyl

Exacyl: an effective drug for managing bleeding

Exacyl (tranexamic acid) is a pharmaceutical agent belonging to the group of fibrinolysis inhibitors. It is manufactured in France by Sanofi Winthrop Industrie and is widely used to treat and prevent bleeding caused by increased fibrinolysis.

Tranexamic acid, the main active ingredient in Exacil, has the international name and synonyms "Transamcha" and "Cyclocapron". The drug is available in various dosage forms, including 250 mg and 500 mg tablets, 500 mg injection and 1 g oral solution.

Exacyl is widely used to treat bleeding caused by various causes. It is effective for hemophilia, hemorrhagic complications of fibrinolytic therapy, thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, leukemia, bleeding during operations and in the postoperative period, uterine bleeding, as well as for pulmonary, nasal, gastrointestinal, menorrhagia and metrorrhagia, gross hematuria and other conditions associated with bleeding from the lower parts of the urinary system. In addition, Exacil can be used for aphthous stomatitis, sore throat, laryngopharyngitis, hereditary angioedema, eczema, allergic dermatitis, urticaria, drug and toxic rashes.

Before using Exacyl, contraindications must be taken into account. The drug is not recommended for hypersensitivity to tranexamic acid, subarachnoid hemorrhage, renal failure, thrombophilic conditions (deep vein thrombosis, thromboembolic syndrome, myocardial infarction), impaired color vision and during pregnancy.

Like any medicine, Exacil can cause side effects. Some of these include dyspeptic symptoms (anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, tachycardia, chest pain, hypotension with rapid administration, impaired color vision and allergic skin reactions.

It is important to consider possible interactions of Exacil with other drugs. It is incompatible with urokinazoid drugs such as aminocillin, tetracycline, ampicillin, amoxicillin and aminoglycosides, as sedimentation of the substance in the renal tubules may occur. Exacyl can also enhance the effect of anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents and fibrinolytic drugs.

The dosage of Exacil is determined by the doctor depending on the nature and severity of the bleeding. To treat bleeding, 1-1.5 g of the drug is usually prescribed 3-4 times a day orally or intravenously. To prevent bleeding during operations, the dosage is 1-1.5 g of the drug 2-3 hours before surgery and 1 g every 8 hours for 7 days after surgery.

You should consult your doctor or pharmacist for more detailed information about using Exacil, especially if you have any doubts or questions.
