Hair Follicle

The hair follicle (folliculus pili) is the structure of the skin from which hair grows. The follicle consists of an internal root sheath and an external connective tissue sheath.

The root sheath contains the hair shaft - the lower part of the hair, which goes deep into the skin. The shaft is surrounded by cells of the internal root sheath, which actively divide and ensure hair growth.

The outer vagina surrounds the inner one and consists of connective tissue. It contains nerves and blood vessels that supply the follicle.

Thus, the hair follicle is a complex formation responsible for the growth and development of hair. Proper follicle function is essential for healthy hair and scalp.
