Ificef

Ificef: an effective antibiotic for treating various infections

Ificef (international name Ceftriaxone) is an antibiotic from the group of third-generation cephalosporins, produced in India by Unique Pharmaceutical Laboratories. It is widely used to treat various infections caused by bacteria, including infections of the respiratory tract, genitourinary organs, skin and soft tissues, joints, abdominal organs, gonorrhea, sepsis and bacterial septicemia, osteomyelitis, meningitis, endocarditis, chancroid, syphilis, Lyme disease, typhoid fever, salmonellosis and others.

Ificef is available in the form of lyophilized powder for the preparation of injection solutions of various concentrations (250 mg, 500 mg, 1000 mg). The active substance is ceftriaxone.

Like any other antibiotic, Ificef can cause side effects. Some of them include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, taste disturbance, headache, dizziness, allergic reactions and others. Contraindications for use include hypersensitivity to the active substance, hepatic-renal failure, bleeding and gastrointestinal diseases in history, pregnancy and lactation.

Interaction of Ificef with other drugs may increase or decrease its effectiveness. For example, aminoglycosides can enhance its effect against gram-negative microorganisms. NSAIDs and other platelet aggregation inhibitors increase the likelihood of bleeding, and loop diuretics and nephrotoxic drugs may impair renal function.

Despite the side effects, Ificef remains one of the most effective antibiotics for treating various infections. It can only be prescribed by a doctor and must be used strictly as directed and under his supervision. If you notice any side effects, you should consult your doctor immediately.
