Immunosuppressants

An immunosuppressant is a drug that mainly affects the cellular immunity of the body. These substances reduce the immune system's response to stimuli and prevent the development of autoimmune diseases. These drugs are usually prescribed for organ transplantation, as well as for the treatment of cancer. When taking them, it is important to monitor the patient’s condition and undergo regular tests. Immunostimulants are also used in sports, for example, as a supplement in preparation for competitive events or to strengthen the immune system. However, most often such substances are prescribed during illness or allergies.
