Intersigmoid recess
The intersigmoid recess (mesiosigmoid recess) is a triangular-shaped area located between the lateral parts of the nasal septum and the upper border of the ethmoid bone. The area of the triangle is called the sinosylmomphic area or intersignosylmomphic triangle. This pocket may contain various structures such as glandular tissue, lymphatic follicles, nerve endings, veins and arteries.
**Anatomy of the intersigmoid recess**
The intergymous recess is a partial blind space between the anterior wall of the medial half of the nose and the posterior wall of the cleft septum. In this section, various degrees of looseness and folds of the nasal septum are possible, which can lead to the formation of sinusitis or rhinitis. This site usually contains secretory glands, blood vessels and nerves.
