Intralipid 30%: fat emulsion for parenteral nutrition
Intralipid 30% is a pharmaceutical preparation that is a fat emulsion for parenteral nutrition. Produced in Sweden by Pharmacia. The drug contains fractionated soybean oil, fractionated egg phospholipids, glycerin and water for injection. Intralipid 30% is used to treat various diseases such as diseases of the digestive tract, unconsciousness, preoperative fasting lasting more than 3 days, extensive burns and severe infectious diseases.
Contraindications to the use of Intralipid 30% are shock at the initial stage and severe lipid metabolism disorders. When using the drug, side effects may occur, such as fever, chills, nausea and vomiting.
Intralipid 30% should be used with caution in patients with renal failure, decompensated diabetes mellitus, pancreatitis, liver dysfunction, hypothyroidism and sepsis.
