Jungle typhus

Jungle typhus is a disease characterized by high fever that spreads throughout the body and can lead to serious complications. It is caused by a bacterium called Burkholderia pseudomallei. Although this disease is not fatal, it can be very dangerous and requires immediate treatment.

In some cases, people with jungle typhus may experience vivid hallucinations and their condition may worsen within a few days. Patients begin to feel dizzy and weak, and may also experience headaches and insomnia.

Jungle typhus is most often found in tropical and subtropical regions such as Malaysia, India, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. The most common symptoms of this disease are fever, headache, vomiting, diarrhea and yellowing of the skin.
