Kamistad gel international is a medicinal product produced by the pharmaceutical company Stada Arzneimittel AG in Germany. The drug belongs to the group of antiseptics and is intended to reduce pain and discomfort in various diseases of the oral cavity.
The composition of the drug includes lidocaine hydrochloride and tincture of chamomile flowers (1:5.5). Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that blocks the transmission of nerve impulses and reduces the sensitivity of nerve endings in the area where the gel is applied. Chamomile flower tincture has an anti-inflammatory and calming effect.
The drug is presented in the form of a gel, which is applied to the affected area of the mouth. Kamistad gel international is indicated for use when wearing dentures and braces, teething baby teeth and wisdom teeth, orthodontic procedures, as well as stomatitis, gingivitis and cheilitis.
The drug is contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), as well as in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. When using the drug according to indications and in recommended doses, side effects are usually not observed. In some cases, transient hyperemia and a burning sensation may occur at the sites of gel application.
No interactions of the drug Kamistad with other drugs have been identified. There have been no cases of Kamistad overdose to date. The drug should be used until the symptoms of the disease completely disappear. There are no clinical data on the effectiveness and safety of Kamistad in children under 3 months of age.
