Campotomy

Camptomy is a surgical procedure that involves cutting a tendon or nerve. It can be used to treat various diseases and injuries, such as stenosis, contracture, paralysis and others.

Camptomy can be performed either open or closed. In an open camptomy, an incision is made in the skin and tissue to gain access to the tendon or nerve. The surgeon then makes an incision in the desired location and removes part or all of the tendon or nerve to restore function.

In a closed camptomy, a small incision is made in the skin and tissue to access the tendon or nerve, but without removing part of it. The surgeon may use special tools and techniques to relieve tension on the tendon or nerve and restore function.

After a camptomy, rehabilitation may be required to restore mobility and function of the limb. In some cases, such as paralysis, rehabilitation can be long and difficult. However, if camptomy is performed correctly and with all the necessary precautions, it can give good results and help the patient return to normal life.
