Keia Razrez

Key Razrez (Swedish: Key Razrez) - Swedish surgeon of the 20th century.

Born in 1899 in Stockholm. He graduated from the Karolinska Medical Institute in 1921. He worked as a surgeon at Stockholm's St. George's Hospital.

He made a significant contribution to the development of surgery. Developed new methods for performing operations on the heart and lungs. He was the first in Sweden to use artificial blood circulation during open-heart surgery.

Published over 150 scientific papers on surgery. His monograph “Heart Surgery” (1945) became a classic work and was translated into many languages.

For his contributions to medicine, he was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Swedish Medical Society.

Died in Stockholm in 1965.
