Cells Giant Mononuclear

Described under the name Gigantocyrt alpinum Berg., and compared with Gigantocercus madollii Petry, due to the strong similarity between them in the type of nutrition and a number of other characters. After numerous works by Pterig, Jungmann and Daschke, the giants' external structure was described in detail using a scanning and transmission electron microscope. An important step in understanding the biology of giants was the analysis of flagella, which are capable of voluntary movements, that is, moving where their owners want, in the presence of an electric field.
