**Myogenic contracture** is a pathological process accompanied by muscle rigidity and the inability to fully extend the joint as a result of shortening of the affected muscle. The muscles most commonly affected are the quadriceps femoris muscle or one of the three portions of the triceps brachii muscle.
**Etiology of the disease** - Partial rupture of muscle fibers; - Abuse of antidepressants or psychotropic drugs; - Immobility due to prolonged stay in one position or constant wearing of fixing structures; - Injuries and surgical interventions on the anterior surfaces of the thighs and shoulder girdles; - Strokes and intoxication from medications of the opiate group; - Treatment with electric current; - Alcohol and drug addiction, mental disorders.
