Strabismus Horizontal

**Vertical strabismus** is a disease in which the normal functioning of the eye muscles is disrupted, as a result of which the coordinated functioning of the visual organs is disrupted. The clinical picture of the horizontal form of this pathology can be expressed in almost the same way as the vertical form - a displacement of the visual elements to either side. Discomfortable sensations for a person may not usually arise immediately in such cases, and only then does this manifestation smoothly transition to the stage of a more distinct deviation of one of the eye cups from the central axis of the other. Unfortunately, the pathological phenomenon is not diagnosed as early as we would like. Many people often consider this process as a normal option and, in most cases, try not to contact doctors at all.

Recently, every ophthalmologist is increasingly faced with a patient suffering from horizontal strabismus. Moreover, in recent years there has been a significant increase in the number of patients with this form of pathology. What is the reason?

There are many reasons that initially lead to deposits of the visual apparatus (strabismus): childhood infections, injuries to the nervous system, inflammatory processes, the growth of tumors, diseases of the thyroid gland, etc. This pathology most often occurs between the ages of seven and twelve years. A man or woman can develop strabismus in childhood under the influence of various factors, which subsequently negatively affect the body of an adult. Sometimes this pathological form is easy to miss even by specialists. That is why this disease is often discovered by chance, especially since the symptoms of strabismus may not be clearly expressed. As mentioned above, the clinical picture can manifest itself in the form of loss of one half or both eyes, with varying degrees of severity of the manifestations of the disease.

If an eye disease is accompanied by horizontal strabismus syndrome in a child under fifteen years of age, then the consequences of this disease negatively affect the development of the central, nervous and vascular systems. Relapses of various infectious diseases often occur, the course of which can be long. There is also a high probability of diseases of internal organs with the formation of edema, hydrotosis, osteodystrophy, etc. In addition, pathology negatively affects a person’s mental state, moral and physical qualities, behavior and his ability to perceive the world around him.
