Kutrub is a type of melancholy, and it most often occurs in the month of Shubat. During kutruba, a person avoids living people, preferring the company of the dead and staying in a cemetery, and plots evil against those whom he unexpectedly meets. Such patients go out at night, and during the day they hide and hide, and all this out of love for loneliness and distance from people. At the same time, they do not stay in one place for more than an hour and constantly move and walk in different directions, not knowing where to go and avoiding people. But sometimes some such patients are not wary of people due to absent-mindedness and because they do not understand well what they see and observe in front of them, at the same time they are sometimes extremely calm, gloomy, sad and sorrowful; their face is yellow, their tongue is dry, and they are constantly thirsty. Non-healing ulcers form on their legs due to the poor quality of the black bile matter and increased movements of the legs, during which the juices go down there, especially since they constantly stumble and hit something with their feet or are bitten by dogs. All this causes matter to flow into the legs, and ulcers appear on them; Since the condition of the ulcers and the causes of their occurrence remain unchanged, the ulcers do not heal. The eyes of those suffering from kutrub are dry and do not shed tears; they are weak, deeply sunken, and all this is because the nature of their eyes is dry.
This disease is called kutrub, because the sufferer senselessly runs and walks in different directions, not knowing where he is going. He runs away from every person who appears in front of him, and due to weakness of memory and inability to reason correctly, he rushes headlong to the side; there he meets someone else and again runs in the other direction. Kutrub is a small animal found on the surface of the water, which moves randomly in different directions. It keeps diving, running away and then reappearing. They also say that it is another restless animal, and some claim that the kutrub is a male demon; others say that it is a mangy wolf. The first two statements are more suitable for our subject. The cause of this disease is black or burnt yellow bile.
Treatment. They treat kutrub in the same way as they treat melancholy if it is caused by burnt yellow bile or black bile. It is necessary to bleed intensively so that a lot of blood comes out and the patient becomes close to fainting, then prescribe worthy food and a bath that moisturizes the nature. The patient is given cheese whey to drink for three days, and then he is emptied with the iyaraj of Archigen, after which one must try to put the patient to sleep. Following the bowel movement, the patient’s heart is strengthened with the help of teriyak and means that act in the same way, and at the same time they strongly moisturize the patient’s body and pour sedatives over his head, so that the warming coming from the mentioned drugs, which must be used, is not combined with physical movements. On the contrary, one should warm the heart with medicines that strengthen it, moisturize the patient’s body and put him to sleep in order to balance the nature. Complete cure is achieved by frequent euthanasia, and the patient is given dodder to drink several times in order to calm the patient’s nature and dispel thoughtfulness. If medicine and treatment do not help, then the patient is punished, they hurt him, they beat him on the head and face and burn his crown, in the heat of which he comes to his senses, for this is an excellent treatment; if the disease returns, it is repeated.
