L. Lapique, a famous French neurologist and neuroanatomist, was born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in 1866. Already in his youth he showed great interest in science, especially medicine. After graduating from university in the early 1890s, Lapika began working in Paris. In 1895, he published his first scientific work on the function of nerve cells.
Lapika soon became interested in the human nervous system, and his attention was focused on studying physiology and anatomy.
