Regimental Infirmary

The Regimental Infirmary (lat. Lazaretus Regimenti) is a medical institution created for the treatment and care of soldiers and officers in wartime. Infirmaries were founded in the 18th century, when armies began to use firearms and began to suffer more and more injuries in battle.

The Regimental Infirmary consisted of several chambers, each of which was intended for a specific type of wound. They contained beds, medical instruments and medicines. The infirmary was staffed by doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who treated and cared for the wounded.

Surgeries and dressings were also carried out in the infirmaries. If necessary, the wounded could be transferred to other medical facilities such as hospitals or hospitals.

Regimental hospitals played an important role in the history of wars, helping to save the lives of soldiers and officers. Today they are used in the armies of different countries to provide medical assistance in the event of hostilities.
