Ledoxina: An effective cytostatic for the treatment of various diseases
Ledoxine, also known as cyclophosphamide, is a powerful antitumor drug belonging to the pharmacological group of cytostatics - bis-(beta-chloroethyl)-amine derivatives. It is widely used in oncology and has proven effectiveness in treating various types of cancer.
Ledoxine is manufactured in Mexico by Lemery and is available under various trade names such as Cyclophosphamide-Teva, Cyclophosphamide, Cyclophosphamide-LENS, Cyclophosphamide-Lance instant, Cytoxan, Endoxan and Endoxan-Asta. The drug is active against various types of cancer, including small cell lung cancer, ovarian, cervical and uterine cancer, breast, bladder, prostate, testicular, as well as neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, angiosarcoma, reticulosarcoma, lymphosarcoma and other tumors.
Despite its effectiveness, Ledoxin has some contraindications and limitations for use. It is not recommended for people with hypersensitivity to the drug, severe renal impairment, bone marrow hypoplasia, leukopenia and/or thrombocytopenia, severe anemia, cachexia, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. In the presence of such conditions, it is necessary to assess the risk-benefit ratio before using Ledoxin.
When using Ledoxin, some side effects may occur. The most common side effects include gastrointestinal disorders such as anorexia, stomatitis, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, hemorrhagic colitis, hepatitis and jaundice. Nervous disorders such as asthenia, dizziness, headache, confusion and blurred vision may also occur.
