Lenticonus

Lenticonus is a rare congenital malformation characterized by the presence of bone tissue in the cornea. It can be unilateral or bilateral, and usually appears as a white cone on the surface of the cornea.

Lenticonus may be detected at birth or later in life. In some cases, it can cause vision problems such as glare, image distortion, and decreased visual acuity.

Treatment for lenticonus may include surgical removal of bone tissue from the cornea, laser vision correction, or the use of special contact lenses. However, the choice of treatment method depends on the severity of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient.

Despite the fact that lenticonus is a rare malformation, it requires timely and correct treatment to avoid serious complications. If you suspect you have lenticonus, see an ophthalmologist for diagnosis and treatment.
