Leptomeningitis

Leptomeningitis is an acute infectious disease accompanied by an inflammatory process of the meninges and soft meninges (leptomeningitis). The disease is an infectious lesion of the brain, which is accompanied by inflammatory processes in the soft membranes covering the spinal cord and brain. The disease is mainly observed in childhood, but also occurs in adults. The greatest danger to humans is inflamed meningococcal leptomeningitis. The body of a healthy person is unable to independently protect it from diseases. A prerequisite for cure is the functioning of the body's immune system.
