Levosin: an effective antiseptic for the treatment of infected wounds
Levosin is an antiseptic produced in Russia by Akrikhin KhFK and Nizhpharm. It is an ointment containing active ingredients such as chloramphenicol, sulfadimethoxine, methyluracil and trimecaine based on polyethylene oxide. Thanks to its composition, Levosin has a wide spectrum of action and effectively fights infection.
The main indications for the use of Levosin are the treatment of purulent wounds in the purulent-necrotic phase of the wound process, as well as infected skin wounds of various etiologies, including burns and difficult-to-heal ulcers. The mechanism of action of the drug lies in its ability to destroy bacteria and prevent their further reproduction, which promotes rapid healing of wounds.
Although Levosin is generally well tolerated by most patients, some people may experience hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. In such cases, its use is contraindicated. Allergic reactions to the skin in the form of rashes or itching are also possible.
Currently, there is not enough information about the interaction of Levosin with other drugs. However, before using Levosin in combination with other drugs, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist.
There is no information on an overdose of Levosin, but you should always follow the dosage recommendations specified in the instructions for the drug and not exceed them.
Before applying Levosin to the wound, it is recommended to clean it of necrotic tissue and rinse it with a solution of hydrogen peroxide. This will help eliminate the infection as much as possible and promote effective healing.
Levosin is an affordable and widely used antiseptic in Russia. It has proven effectiveness in the treatment of infected wounds of various origins. However, as with any medicine, it is recommended that you consult your doctor or pharmacist before using it to ensure it suits your individual needs and health conditions.
