Lidaprim

Lidaprim: Combination antimicrobial agents from Macedonia

Lidaprim is a combination drug that is used to combat infections of various organs and systems in the body. This drug is manufactured by several companies, including Alkaloid from Macedonia, Nycomed Austria GmbH from Austria, and Hafslund Nycomed Pharma from Denmark and Austria.

Lidaprim belongs to the group of combination antimicrobials, which means that it contains two active ingredients: sulfametrol and trimethoprim. Sulfametrol and trimethoprim are antibiotics that work together to achieve a synergistic effect and more effectively fight bacterial infections.

Lidaprim is available in a variety of dosage forms, including tablets of various strengths, suspensions for children and solution for intravenous injection. The dosage and regimen of use of the drug are determined by the doctor depending on the type of infection, its severity and the individual characteristics of the patient.

Lidaprim is effective in the treatment of various infections of the ENT organs and respiratory tract, such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, sinusitis, as well as acute and chronic diseases of the bronchi and lungs. It can also be used to combat infections of the kidneys and urinary tract, genitals, gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder and biliary tract, as well as to treat skin infections, wounds and pre- and post-operative conditions.

Despite its effectiveness, the medicine has some contraindications and side effects. Lidaprim is not recommended for hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or other components of the drug, as well as for severe impairment of liver and kidney function. It should also be used with caution in pregnant women and during breastfeeding.

Some of the side effects that may occur when using Lidaprim include loss of appetite, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, changes in blood composition, allergic reactions and the possibility of superinfections caused by drug-resistant microorganisms.

It is important to note that long-term treatment with Lidaprim requires constant medical monitoring of the blood condition, liver and kidney function, as well as thyroid monitoring of possible side effects and the effectiveness of treatment.

In any case, before starting to use Lidaprim, you should consult with a doctor who can evaluate the indications for its use, determine the optimal dosage and monitor the progress of treatment.

Please note that my information is current as of September 2021, so it is recommended that you also consult current sources of information or the specific drug manufacturer for the latest updates and recommendations on the use of Lidaprim.
