Cretan fever

Cretan fever is an acute infectious disease caused by the bacterium C. freundii. It is characterized by high fever and other symptoms including abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Fever of Crete is an epidemic disease that can be found on the Greek island of Crete and some other parts of Europe. It can be spread through contact with contaminated surfaces, such as hands.

Symptoms

The first symptom of Krita fever is high body temperature. Some patients may experience muscle pain, headache, fatigue, sore throat, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain. Fever of Crete can occur in mild and severe forms. Patients with severe disease may exhibit symptoms of shock.

Treatment

The main treatment for Crete fever is antibiotic therapy. Antibiotics can kill the bacteria that causes the fever. However, treatment of fever should be carried out under the supervision of a physician. Patients should avoid contact with other people until they receive test results that the virus is not present in their blood.
