Lithiasis Tubulomedullary

Lithiasis tubulomedullaris is a disease characterized by the formation of stones in the tubes and medullary substance of the kidneys. This disease is a type of nephrolithiasis (formation of kidney stones) and is quite common.

In tubulomedullary lithiasis, stones form in the renal tubes and medullary substance. This occurs due to the deposition of salts in the kidneys, which leads to the appearance of crystals. If these crystals are not eliminated from the body, they can aggregate and form stones.

Symptoms of tubulomedullary lithiasis may include low back pain, nausea, vomiting, and blood in the urine. In some cases, urination may be difficult.

Diagnosis of tubulomedullary lithiasis is based on urine and blood tests, as well as ultrasound and x-ray examination of the kidneys. Often a computed tomography scan is also performed to clarify the diagnosis.

Treatment for tubulomedullary lithiasis depends on the size and number of stones formed. In some cases, changing your diet and taking medications is enough to break up the stones. In more serious cases, surgery may be required.

In general, tubulomedullary lithiasis can be a serious disease that requires timely diagnosis and treatment. Regular medical examinations and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent this disease.
