The frontal tuber (tuber frontal) is a wedge-shaped formation on the surface of the cerebrum, located at the exit of the third ventricle. The size of the frontal tubercle varies over a very wide range, from microscopically small to large as a human fist. In a newborn child, the frontal tubercle is poorly developed (its circumference is 4-6 mm). Over time, it increases in size and reaches its maximum size at the end of the first months of life. The adult brain has a frontal eminence with a diameter of about 27-30 mm; age-related changes affect only its mass.
