Meningoencephalitis Cytomegalic

The meningeal form of CMV infection typically occurs in patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiencies. Other forms of the disease affect people with: chronic diseases that deplete the immune system, such as AIDS, tumors, people weakened by medications or alcohol. The disease is also more severe for children in the first years of life due to their still weak immune system and the characteristics of their cerebral tissue.
