Metergin

Methergin is a medicine used to treat uterine bleeding in women. It contains ergot alkaloids.

Methergin is available in the form of sugar-coated tablets. The active ingredient of the drug is methylergometrine.

Indications for the use of Methergin include uterine bleeding after childbirth, cesarean section or abortion. The drug can also be used for delayed uterine involution after childbirth and lochiometer.

Contraindications to the use of Methergin are hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy and the first two stages of labor before the appearance of the fetal head. Limitations for use may include hypertension, coronary heart disease, mitral valve stenosis and occlusive vascular disease.
