Microencephaly

Microencephaly is a congenital malformation of the brain, characterized by a decrease in its size.

Microencephaly can be associated with various genetic factors, such as mutations in genes responsible for brain development. However, there are other reasons, such as exposure to toxic substances on the embryo, infections, trauma during pregnancy, etc.

Clinically, microencephaly manifests itself in the form of various symptoms, such as mental retardation, speech disorders, motor disorders, seizures, etc.

Treatment for microencephaly includes various methods, including drug therapy, surgery, and rehabilitation measures.

The prognosis for microencephaly depends on the severity of the disease and the presence of concomitant pathologies.
